But shall not Love have its deserts | F |
And win forgiveness though she still | G |

He hears the bugle and the drum | I |
And the wild longing in him stirs | H |
For the fierce battle He's not hers | H |

Praying against him loud and low | K |
'Pity me so he may not go ' | - |
Calling on Heaven that it conspire | B |
