White Moments Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGBHBIJKJLMFN OPNPAQRQ

THE best of life what is it but white momentsA
Those swift illuminations when we seeB
The flying shadows on the fragrant meadowsC
As God beholds them from eternityB
White moments when the bliss of being worshipsD
And fear and shame are heretics that burnE
In holy fire of exquisite desireF
For love's surrender and for love's returnE
White moments when a Power above the artistG
Catches his plodding chisel sets it freeB
And from each urgent stroke there springs emergentH
The wayward grace that laughs at industryB
White moments when the drowsing soul sense muffledI
Is stung awake by some keen arrow flightJ
And rends the bestial claiming its celestialK
Succession in the lineage of lightJ
White moments when the spirit long confrontedL
By all the bitter formul of fateM
Inveterate romancer finds its answerF
In some mysterious faith inviolateN
White moments when the silence steals on sorrowO
And in that hush the heart becomes awareP
Of wings that brood it visions that seclude itN
Forevermore from folly fear and careP
The best of life what is it but white momentsA
Freedoms that break the chain and fling the loadQ
Irradiations ardors consecrationsR
The starry shrines along our pilgrim roadQ
