WHAT fragrant footed comerA
Is stepping o er my headB
Behold my queen the SummerA
Who deems her warriors deadB
Now rise ye knights of many fightsC
From out your sleep profoundD
Make sharp your spears my gallant peersE
And prick the frozen groundD
-
Before the White Host harm herA
We ll hurry to her aidF
We ll don our elfin armorA
And every tiny bladeF
Shall bear atop a dewy dropG
The life blood of the frostH
Till from their king the order ringI
Fall back the day is lostH
-
Now shame to knighthood brothersJ
Must Summer plead in vainK
And shall I wait till othersJ
My crown of sunshine gainK
Alone this day I ll dare the frayL
Alone the victory winM
In me my queen shall find I weenM
A sturdy paladinM
-
To battle Ho King WinterA
Hath rushed on me apaceN
My fragile blade doth splinterA
Beneath his icy maceN
I stagger back I yield alackI
I fall My senses passO
Woe worth the chance for doughtiest lanceP
Of all the House of GrassO
-
Last hope my heart gives overA
But hark a shout of cheerQ
Don Daisy and Count CloverA
Sir Buttercup are hereR
Behold behold with shield of goldS
Prince Dandelion comesT
Lord Bumble Bee beats valiantlyU
His rolling battle drumsT
-
My brothers leave their slumbersT
And lead the van of warV
Before our swelling numbersT
The foes are driven farW
The day s our own but overthrownM
A little Knight in greenM
I kiss her feet and deem it sweetX
To perish for my queenM
