The Horses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCDEDEFGFGHIHIJKL KMNMN

'Thus far horses have been shipped from the United States to the European belligerents 'A
WHAT was our share in the sinningB
That we must share the doomC
Sweet was our life's beginningB
In the spicy meadow bloomC
With children's hands to pet usD
And kindly tones to callE
To day the red spurs fret usD
Against the bayonet wallE
What had we done our mastersF
That you sold us into hellG
Our terrors and disastersF
Have filled your pockets wellG
You feast on our starvationH
Your laughter is our groanI
Have horses then no nationH
No country of their ownI
What are we we your horsesJ
So loyal where we serveK
Fashioned of noble forcesL
All sensitive with nerveK
Torn agonized we wallowM
On the blood bemired sodN
And still the shiploads followM
Have horses then no GodN
