Babushka Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAAAACCAAAAAADDBB AAAA

THOU whose sunny heart outglowsA
Arctic snowsA
Russia's hearth fire cherishingB
Courage almost perishingB
Torch that beacons overseaA
Till a world is at thy kneeA
Babushka the Belov dA
What Czar can exile theeA
Sweet serene unswerving soulC
To thy goalC
Pressing on such mighty pinionsA
Tyrants quake for their dominionsA
And devise yet heavier keyA
Deeper cell to prison theeA
Babushka the Belov dA
Thyself art LibertyA
Though thy martyr body oldD
Chains may holdD
Clearer still thy voice goes ringingB
Over steppe and mountain bringingB
Holy mother of the freeA
Millions more thy sons to beA
Babushka the Belov dA
What death can silence theeA
