THE weazen planet MercuryA
Whose song is doneB
Rash heart that drew too nearC
His dazzling lord the SunB
Forgets that life was dearC
So shriveled now and sereC
The goblin planet MercuryA
But Venus thou mysterious Enveil d oneB
Fairest of lights that fleetD
Around the radiant SunB
Do not thy pulses beatD
To music blithe and sweetD
O Venus veiled mysteriousE
And Earth our shadow haunted EarthF
Hast thou too wonB
The graces of a starG
From the glory of the SunB
Do poets dream afarG
That here all lusters areG
Upon our blind bewildered EarthF
We dream that mighty forms on MarsH
With wisdom spunB
From subtler brain than man'sI
Are hoarding snow and sunB
Wringing a few more spansI
Of life fierce artisansJ
From their deep grooved worn planet MarsH
But thou colossal JupiterK
World just begunB
Wild globe of golden steamL
Chief nursling of the SunB
Transcendest human dreamL
That faints before the gleamL
Of thy vast splendor JupiterK
And for what rare delightM
Or woes to shunB
Of races increateM
New lovers of the SunB
Was Saturn ringed with greatM
Rivers illuminateM
Ethereal jewel of delightM
Far from his fellows UranusE
Doth lonely runB
In his appointed waysN
Around the sovereign SunB
Wide journeys that amazeN
Our weak and toiling gazeN
Searching the path of UranusE
But on the awful vergeO
Of voids that stunB
The spirit Neptune keepsP
The frontier of the SunB
Over the deeps on deepsP
He glows a torch that sweepsP
The circle of that shuddering vergeO
On each bright planet waitsP
OblivionB
Who casts beneath her feetM
Ashes of star and sunB
But when all ruby heatM
Is frost a Heart shall beatM
Where God within the darkness waitsP
