Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBACDCDABEFE| WHAT song is in the sap of this brave oak tree | A |
| That to the north star faces | B |
| Ravened each June by caterpillar masses | B |
| Till all its leaves are laces | B |
| Poor shreds whose very shadow grieves the grasses | B |
| I leave it then but roses and the smoke tree | A |
| Look from the lawn below it | C |
| And watch for that gold witch Midsummer Weather | D |
| With magic breath to blow it | C |
| Free of its foes whose wings make mirth together | D |
| Vital as Igdrasil immortal folk tree | A |
| When I return its losses | B |
| Are all restored its fresh soft foliage gleaming | E |
| With peach and citron glosses | F |
| A Druid that is never done with dreaming | E |
