The Revolver Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFGH EIIGGIJ

The RevolverA
-
Who will go nextB
The revolver moved round around the huts on my fertile faceC
Who will go next The revolver frownedD
Many down already less fewer more to goE
The revolutionalist was a man of God Yes A man of godF
He had the sword of worship and the breastplate of civilisationG
Which have both been strange words to us for agesH
-
You You shall goE
O Holy mother of Jesus he criedI
Teach me to handle these unreachedI
Take off the thatch for light to go inG
After all my first promise to them was civilisationG
The revolver blew the thatch and there was lightI
Piercing light on the faces of our fore godsJ
