Faded Flowers. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD

My love she sent a flower to meA
Of tender hue and fragrance rareB
And with it came across the seaA
A letter kind as she was fairB
But when her letter met mine eyesC
The flower the little flower was deadD
And ere I touched the tender prizeC
The hues were dim the fragrance fledD
-
I sent my love a letter tooE
In happy hope no more to roamF
I bade her bless the vessel trueE
Whose gallant sails should waft me homeF
But ere my letter reach'd her handG
My love my little love was deadD
And when the vessel touch'd the landG
Fair hope for evermore had fledD
