Of tender hue and fragrance rare | B |
And with it came across the sea | A |
A letter kind as she was fair | B |
But when her letter met mine eyes | C |
The flower the little flower was dead | D |
And ere I touched the tender prize | C |
The hues were dim the fragrance fled | D |

In happy hope no more to roam | F |
I bade her bless the vessel true | E |
Whose gallant sails should waft me home | F |
