A CAROLA
-
-
Oh happy Christmas full of blessings comeB
Now bid our discords ceaseC
Here give the weary easeD
Let the long parted meet again in peaceC
Bring back the far awayE
Grant us a holidayE
And by the hopes of Christmas tide we prayE
Let love restore the fallen to his HomeF
Whilst up and down the snowy streets the Christmas minstrels singG
And through the frost from countless towers the bells ofH
Christmas ringG
-
Ah Christ and yet a happier day shall comeB
Then bid our discords ceaseC
There give the weary easeD
Let the long parted meet again in peaceC
Bring back the far awayE
Grant us a holidayE
And by the hopes of Christmas tide we prayE
Let love restore the fallen to his HomeF
Whilst up and down the golden streets the blessed angels singG
And evermore the heavenly chimes in heavenly cadence ringG
