Autumn Leaves Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GHIJJI KKBLLB

The Spring's bright tints no more are seenA
And Summer's ample robe of greenA
Is russet gold and brownB
When flowers fall to every breezeC
And shed reluctant from the treesC
The leaves drop downB
-
A sadness steals about the heartD
And is it thus from youth we partD
And life's redundant primeE
Must friends like flowers fade awayF
And life like Nature know decayF
And bow to timeE
-
And yet such sadness meets rebukeG
From every copse in every nookH
Where Autumn's colours glowI
How bright the sky How full the sheavesJ
What mellow glories gild the leavesJ
Before they goI
-
Then let us sing the jocund praiseK
In this bright air of these bright daysK
When years our friendships crownB
The love that's loveliest when 'tis oldL
When tender tints have turned to goldL
And leaves drop downB
