Evening Angelus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHAI JKLMLHANOPQA

I have forgotten the wordsA
and therefore I shall not conceiveB
of a mysterious salvation I shallC
not become a tall lily and bloomD
into blue and white Then whatE
oracular event shall appear onF
my doorstep What announcementG
shall crowd me to a cornerH
protesting an unworthinessA
which doubtless shall be believedI
-
But these are only bells we hearJ
pulled down by the arms of theK
drunken janitor two fingers missingL
on his left hand And we haveM
climbed into that tower its spiralingL
wooden staircase creaking beneath ourH
feet We have seen for ourselvesA
that it is only iron that rings ironN
swinging on an iron bar the rough ropeO
threading down to the cold groundP
no death or holiness inQ
those hollow shellsA
