The Thorn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCC DDEE AAFF

For the Rev Charles L O'Donnell C S CA
-
-
The garden of God is a radiant placeB
And every flower has a holy faceB
Our Lady like a lily bends above the cloudy sodC
But Saint Michael is the thorn on the rosebush of GodC
-
David is the song upon God's lipsD
And Our Lady is the goblet that He sipsD
And Gabriel's the breath of His commandE
But Saint Michael is the sword in God's right handE
-
The Ivory Tower is fair to seeA
And may her walls encompass meA
But when the Devil comes with the thunder of his mightF
Saint Michael show me how to fightF
