Houses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFCGE HIJKLIMK NONPEOGP MDQRCDSR

For AlineA
-
-
When you shall die and to the skyB
Serenely delicately goC
Saint Peter when he sees you thereD
Will clash his keys and sayE
Now talk to her Sir ChristopherF
And hurry MichelangeloC
She wants to play at buildingG
And you've got to help her playE
-
Every architect will help erectH
A palace on a lawn of cloudI
With rainbow beams and a sunset roofJ
And a level star tiled floorK
And at your will you may use the skillL
Of this gay angelic crowdI
When a house is made you will throw it downM
And they'll build you twenty moreK
-
For Christopher Wren and these other menN
Who used to build on earthO
Will love to go to work againN
If they may work for youP
This porch you'll say should go this wayE
And they'll work for all they're worthO
And they'll come to your palace every morningG
And ask you what to doP
-
And when night comes down on Heaven townM
If there should be night up thereD
You will choose the house you like the bestQ
Of all that you can seeR
And its walls will glow as you drowsily goC
To the bed up the golden stairD
And I hope you'll be gentle enough to keepS
A room in your house for meR
