DEAR critics pray what have I doneA
That thus you frown so tell me trulyB
'You've for your neck a halter spunA
In blaming of our race unduly 'C

Don't hang me pray Just praise my layD
And I will swear the Muse but garbledE
My sweet intent and what was meantF
Was not the blame the Gipsy warbledE
