The Modest Maid Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCB DEDFGHGF IJJKLMMK

O COULD I a garland braidA
That would never never fadeA
I would crown the modest maidA
Queen of earth's joy giving bandB
Poor or wealthy dark or fairC
Lo that happy one's an heirC
To a dowery as rareC
As e'er fell from fortune's handB
-
Not the look which once to spyD
Would the stoic's pride destroyE
Could to my astonished eyeD
Her endearing looks eclipseF
Not the music which to hearG
Would dispel the cynic's sneerH
Could to my astonished earG
Spoil the music of her lipsF
-
Let the haughty beauty frownI
Let the wretch her rigour ownJ
Once her mid day splendour flownJ
Banished is her boasted powerK
Whereas she that's modest wearsL
Dearer with the march of yearsM
Yea like yonder sun appearsM
Grandest in her setting hourK
