Polly And Harry Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCCB ABABCCCB ABABDDD

MERRY lark like merryA
At the break of dayB
Polly meeteth HarryA
Coming down the wayB
And her lips they quiverC
When her eyes discoverC
Smiles that speak ah neverC
Peace unto the MayB
-
Merry blythe and merryA
'Neath the noontide rayB
Polly meeteth HarryA
Coming up the wayB
And his accents put herC
Fond heart in a flutterC
And no tongue can utterC
What her looks betrayB
-
Merry yet so merryA
At the close of dayB
Polly spyeth HarryA
Wooing Ely GrayB
And when this she spyethD
Lo her reason diethD
And her heart rent cryethD
'Woe and well a day '-
