Not The Bird Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DCDC

HE'S not the bird I took him forA
I heard him in the distance screamingB
And tho' his voice was harsh that hourC
I dream'd of glories golden gleamingB
-
This hour he meets my closer viewD
And tho' he cuts as big a swaggerC
I find a little cockatooD
And not a peacock in the braggerC
