Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKL MNOP CMJL LQLI

From the rest of the worldA
Among the set of nationsB
From the rest we are located in the west the west of AfricaC
An Africa far beyond the walls of warD
-
First black nation in Sub Saharan Africa to gain independenceE
At last we depend on the coast of freedomF
From ancient times slaves we were in shacklesG
From a land rich in gold we erupt as Gold CoastH
-
Then Ghana like a warrior king overcame colonizationI
Jubilation we called out a celebration of kingdomsJ
Liberation came as the big six made it a memorable dayK
A day out of slavery's burdens Ghana became our new nameL
-
Now a nation a home to live freelyM
As the pioneers planned for us a peopleN
Crafted our bold flag red as the toil of our bloodO
Gold our minerals green our evergreen forestP
-
So we are black the black stars of GhanaC
Modest in hospitality that's our levityM
Ghana full of tribes counting the AkansJ
Mole Dagbani Ewe Ga Dangme Gurna GurmaL
-
A Ghana who gave birth to Kwame NkrumahL
The first president of its kindQ
Highly we hold in esteemL
As beautiful and a wonderful nationI
