Our Pride And Independence (ghana)
From the rest of the world,
Among the set of nations,
From the rest we are located in the west, the west of Africa,
An Africa far beyond the walls of war,
First black nation in Sub-Saharan Africa, to gain independence,
At last, we depend on the coast of freedom,
From ancient times, slaves we were in shackles,
From a land rich in gold, we erupt as Gold Coast,
Then Ghana, like a warrior king, overcame colonization,
Jubilation we called out, a celebration of kingdoms,
Liberation came as the big six made it a memorable day,
A day out of slavery's burdens, Ghana became our new name,
Now a nation, a home to live freely,
As the pioneers planned for us, a people,
Crafted our bold flag, red as the toil of our blood,
Gold our minerals, green our evergreen forest,
So we are black, the black stars of Ghana,
Modest in hospitality, that's our levity,
Ghana full of tribes, counting the Akans,
Mole Dagbani, Ewe, Ga Dangme, Gurna, Gurma.
A Ghana who gave birth to Kwame Nkrumah,
The first president of its kind,
Highly we hold in esteem,
As beautiful and a wonderful nation.
