The Christ Child Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CCDE FFGG HHGG

All hail to a noble Saviour of low birthA
who lies in a cradle surrounded by beastsB
The chants of Joy and gladness from all the earthA
mark his lowly birth with wonderful feastsB
-
All hail to our Lord whose lowly birth brings hopeC
to the rabble elite priest friar and PopeC
The seed of David who is sure to set menD
free from the bondage of sin's evil omenE
-
All hail to our meek and gentle Christ childF
whose child like moods are ever temperate and mildF
The gift to a virgin who never once boreG
childish petulance from a child to adoreG
-
All hail to a great and charming infant KingH
of whose lowly birth all kingdoms on earth singH
Men of every tribe and tongue come to adoreG
the Christ child who will their dignity restoreG
