The Flowers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL

Some flowers are brighter far in hueA
Than others by their sideB
But God baptizes all with dewA
And spreads His mantle wideB
To cover all for half the dayC
From rays of scorching sunD
Though some may shine in colors gayC
And some in sober dunD
-
And I account each one my friendE
The stately and the plainF
Diverse their hue but not their endE
For me none bloom in vainF
For all proclaim their Maker's skillG
And point to bloom aboveH
In God's great plan their part fulfilG
And whisper God is loveH
-
The fragrance lades the summer airI
With health inspiring germsJ
Ascend on high as nature's prayerI
Suggesting well the termsJ
Of God accepted prayer from manK
Odors of grateful praiseL
For though in penitence beganK
It ends in joyful laysL
