The Bud Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGHCIJKLMLNJJJ OPNPJQRQJSTS

The winter through I lay asleepA
Unconscious and unseenB
The howling winds disturbed me notC
Nor felt the frost tho' keenB
Thick blankets covered me aboutD
And kept me dry and warmE
And weeks and months passed quickly byF
And I received no harmG
At last I felt uneasy inH
My cosy little cotC
Tho' it was lined with softest downI
The cause I knew not whatJ
I struggled hard to free myselfK
But struggled all in vainL
My blankets felt the strain 'tis trueM
And opened to the rainL
But just enough for me to seeN
The frowning sky o'erheadJ
I closed my eyes in sad affrightJ
And wished that I was deadJ
-
But soon a change came o'er my frameO
Much like electric shockP
Oh how I longed for some rare keyN
With which I might unlockP
My prison door for I now feltJ
The breath of coming SpringQ
And heard likewise her merry laughR
Like silver bells its ringQ
My lips were close to blanket rentJ
I ceased my useless strifeS
And she bent over me in loveT
And kissed me into lifeS
