My Pansy Pets Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD ECECFGFG HIHIJKJK

My pansy pets are sleeping wellA
Beneath their quilt of snowB
How they can breathe I cannot tellA
Nor how their rootlets growB
But soon the snow will melt awayC
And April showers descendD
Then shall appear in colors gayC
Each little pansy friendD
-
Of pride it may not show a traceE
Of lowly mind alwayC
But will not blush to show its faceE
All through the lifelong dayC
Its fragrance other flowers surpassF
In form more stately tooG
But when you see my pets in massF
Thank God they ever grewG
-
For though the human face may frownH
Or show a heart of guileI
My pansy pets as you look downH
Will look at you and smileI
Nor will they murmur if you shouldJ
Pluck off their brightest bloomK
Their mission is to do us goodJ
And smile away our gloomK
