He Shall Wipe Away Every Tear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGIJJ

Every tear that dims the eyeA
Or bedews the careworn cheekB
Will our God who reigns on highA
With a hand so kind and meekB
Wipe away nor leave a traceC
Of its stain on eye or faceC
-
He alone life's ills can rightD
Each His tender pity needsE
None are hidden from His sightD
Every tear the promise readsE
Every tear shall cease to flowF
Cease likewise the cause of woeF
-
O may I in Him confideG
While I tread this vale of tearsH
Walking closely by His sideG
He will dissipate my fearsI
And when ends the weary strifeJ
May I share the tearless lifeJ
