Aspiration Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGHI stand to day on higher ground | A |
Than ever reached before | B |
Yet from this summit I have found | A |
Outlined full many more | B |
Which seem to pierce the vaulted sky | C |
And prove my effort vain | D |
But God will set my feet on high | C |
Thro' grace I shall attain | D |
- | |
Yet higher still my ideal stands | E |
Its peak but dimly seen | F |
But hope impels and love commands | E |
And faith discerns its sheen | F |
And when I reach its shining height | G |
Heaven's gate will open wide | H |
I'll see the beatific sight | G |
And rest at Jesus' side | H |
