Ashamed, But Not Afraid Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CACA DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK DADA

O God I am ashamed to dieA
But not the least afraidB
Tho' death's dark shadow draweth nighA
Atonement has been madeB
-
For every member of our raceC
And I on it relyA
And hope immortal blooms thro' graceC
I'm not afraid to dieA
-
But Thou hast done great things for meD
And I have nothing doneE
To set my sin bound spirit freeD
Was sacrificed Thy SonE
-
And every day by Thy kind handF
Rich blessings are bestowedG
Oh how can I before Thee standF
Or rest in Thine abodeG
-
With self respect or feel at homeH
With no returns to showI
My whole life like the worthless foamH
On time's incessant flowI
-
Oh that in life's great harvest fieldJ
I may some reaping doK
Early and late the sickle wieldJ
And prove a reaper trueK
-
And when the summons comes from TheeD
While I on Christ relyA
Thou wilt not be ashamed of meD
Nor I ashamed to dieA
