Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL MFMFNONO PQPQRSRS TJTJUIUI VWVWIXIX PGPGBUBUI know in part but know not all | A |
The part I know is known | B |
What know I not I hope with Paul | A |
To know before the throne | B |
Till then where knowledge fails I trust | C |
The truth God has revealed | D |
As known by me forever must | C |
Be like the truth concealed | D |
- | |
I know God is tho' hid from sight | E |
And know He cares for me | F |
In blessing me He takes delight | E |
And I by faith can see | F |
His skilful hand and loving heart | G |
In all my life's affairs | H |
And feel content to know but part | G |
If He knows all my cares | H |
- | |
I know God gave His Son to die | I |
A sacrifice for man | J |
And live all who on Him rely | I |
And meet His claims I can | J |
Yet I know not how in Him meet | K |
The human and divine | L |
But God He is and at His feet | K |
I fall and feel Him mine | L |
- | |
Nor do I understand the change | M |
The spirit wrought in me | F |
A work so great exceeds my range | M |
But I can feel and see | F |
The inward peace and outward trend | N |
And hear likewise His voice | O |
The outward with the inward blend | N |
And answer to my choice | O |
- | |
I know not how mind touches mind | P |
And thoughts spring into life | Q |
Nor know the mystic bands which bind | P |
Like husband to the wife | Q |
My loving Lord and my poor soul | R |
But this I know full well | S |
If I submit to His control | R |
I cannot sink to hell | S |
- | |
I know the world shakes to its base | T |
And man still wars with man | J |
The bane of sin rests on our race | T |
And Satan leads the van | J |
But hope exults within my breast | U |
Tho 'darkness shrouds the sky | I |
God is the friend of the oppressed | U |
The good will never die | I |
- | |
I know not why my plans should fail | V |
When I have plan'd for God | W |
And on this ground my foes assail | V |
But I still kiss the rod | W |
For tho' I cannot tell the why | I |
My heart is filled with peace | X |
I can on my dear Lord rely | I |
And wait for my release | X |
- | |
I know He is both true and kind | P |
And has my good at heart | G |
His discipline will only bind | P |
With cords which naught can part | G |
My heart's affections to His throne | B |
And fit me for my rest | U |
Nor do I tread life's path alone | B |
He knows and I am blest | U |
