Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGH| There is no moment but whose flight doth bring | A |
| Bright clouds and fluttering leaves to deck my bower | B |
| And I within like some sweet bird must sing | A |
| To tell the story of the passing hour | B |
| For time has secrets that no bird has sung | C |
| Nor changing leaf with changing season told | D |
| They wait the utterance of some nobler tongue | C |
| Like that which spoke in prophet tones of old | D |
| Then day and night and month and year shall tell | E |
| The tale that speaks but faint from bird and bough | F |
| In spirit songs their praise shall upward swell | E |
| Nor longer pass heaven's gate unheard as now | F |
| But cause e'en angels' ears to catch the strain | G |
| And send it back to earth in joy again | H |
