The Spirit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGFGHHI would not breathe when blows thy mighty wind | A |
O'er desolate hill and winter blasted plain | B |
But stand in waiting hope if I may find | A |
Each flower recalled to newer life again | C |
That now unsightly hides itself from Thee | D |
Amid the leaves or rustling grasses dry | E |
With ice cased rock and snowy mantled tree | D |
Ashamed lest Thou its nakedness should spy | E |
But Thou shall breathe and every rattling bough | F |
Shall gather leaves each rock with rivers flow | G |
And they that hide them from thy presence now | F |
In new found robes along thy path shall glow | G |
And meadows at thy coming fall and rise | H |
Their green waves sprinkled with a thousand eyes | H |
