The Spirit Land Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGGFather thy wonders do not singly stand | A |
Nor far removed where feet have seldom strayed | B |
Around us ever lies the enchanted land | A |
In marvels rich to thine own sons displayed | B |
In finding thee are all things round us found | C |
In losing thee are all things lost beside | D |
Ears have we but in vain strange voices sound | C |
And to our eyes the vision is denied | D |
We wander in the country far remote | E |
Mid tombs and ruined piles in death to dwell | F |
Or on the records of past greatness dote | E |
And for a buried soul the living sell | F |
While on our path bewildered falls the night | G |
That ne'er returns us to the fields of light | G |
