The Robe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG| Each naked branch the yellow leaf or brown | A |
| The rugged rock and death deformed plain | B |
| Lie white beneath the winter's feathery down | A |
| Nor doth a spot unsightly now remain | B |
| On sheltering roof on man himself it falls | C |
| But him no robe not spotless snow makes clean | D |
| Beneath his corse like spirit ever calls | C |
| That on it too may fall the heavenly screen | D |
| But all in vain its guilt can never hide | E |
| From the quick spirit's heart deep searching eye | F |
| There barren plains and caverns yawning wide | E |
| Ever lie naked to the passer by | F |
| Nor can one thought deformed the presence shun | G |
| But to the spirit's gaze stands bright as in the sun | G |
