The New World Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGHII

THE NIGHT that has no star lit up by GodA
The day that round men shines who still are blindB
The earth their grave turned feet for ages trodA
And sea swept over by His mighty windB
All these have passed away the melting dreamC
That flitted o er the sleeper s half shut eyeD
When touched by morning s golden darting beamC
And he beholds around the earth and skyD
That ever real stands the rolling shoresE
And heaving billows of the boundless mainF
That show though time is past no trace of yearsG
And earth restored he sees as his againH
The earth that fades not and the heavens that standI
Their strong foundations laid by God s right handI
