The New Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

THE hands must touch and handle many thingsA
The eyes long waste their glances all in vainB
The feet course still in idle mazy ringsA
E'er man himself the lost shall back regainB
The hand that ever moves the eyes that seeC
While day holds out his shining lamp on highD
And strait as flies the honey seeking beeC
Direct the feet to unseen flowers they spyD
These when they come the man revealed from heavenE
Shall labor all the day in quiet restF
And find at eve the covert duly givenE
Where with the bird they find sweet sleep and restF
That shall their wasted strength to health restoreG
And bid them seek the morn the hills and fields once moreG
