The Living God Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGGThere is no death with Thee each plant and tree | A |
In living haste their stems push onward still | B |
The pointed blade each rooted trunk we see | A |
In various movement all attest thy will | B |
The vine must die when its long race is run | C |
The tree must fall when it no more can rise | D |
The worm has at its root his task begun | C |
And hour by hour his steady labor plies | D |
Nor man can pause but in thy will must grow | E |
And as his roots within more deep extend | F |
He shall o'er sons of sons his branches throw | E |
And to the latest born his shadows lend | F |
Nor know in thee disease nor length of days | G |
But lift his head forever in thy praise | G |
