The Idler Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGFGHH

I IDLE stand that I may find employA
Such as my Master when He comes will giveB
I cannot find in mine own work my joyA
But wait although in waiting I must liveC
My body shall not turn which way it willD
But stand till I the appointed road can findE
And journeying so his messages fulfilD
And do at every step the work designedE
Enough for me still day by day to waitF
Till Thou who formest me findest me too a taskG
A cripple lying at the rich man s gateF
Content for the few crumbs I get to askG
A laborer but in heart while bound my handsH
Hangidly down still waiting thy commandsH
