The Fair Morning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFEFEGG

The clear bright morning with its scented airA
And gaily waving flowers is here againB
Man's heart is lifted with the voice of prayerA
And peace descends as falls the gentle rainC
The tuneful birds that all the night have sleptD
Take up at dawn the evening's dying layE
When sleep upon their eyelids gently creptD
And stole with stealthy craft their song awayE
High overhead the forest's swaying boughsF
Sprinkle with drops the traveler on his wayE
He hears far off the tinkling bells of cowsF
Driven to pasture at the break of dayE
With vigorous step he passes swift alongG
Making the woods reecho with his songG
