On Visiting The Graves Of Hawthorne And Thoreau Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGBB

Beneath these shades beside yon winding streamA
Lies Hawthorne's manly form the mortal partB
The soul that loved to meditate and dreamA
Might linger here unwilling to departB
But that a higher life has called awayC
To fairer scenes to nobler work and thoughtD
Why should the spirit then on earth delayC
That has a glimpse of such bright regions caughtE
And near another Nature's child doth restF
Thoreau who loved each woodland path to treadG
So gently sleeping on his mother's breastF
Living though numbered with the numerous deadG
We mourn But hope will whisper in the heartB
We meet again and meet no more to partB
