| And every object hill and stream and skies | A |
| Rejoice within th' encircling line to be | B |
| 'Tis day the field is filled with busy hands | C |
| The shop resounds with noisy workmen's din | D |
| The traveller with his staff already stands | C |
| His yet unmeasured journey to begin | D |
| The light breaks gently too within the breast | E |
| Yet there no eye awaits the crimson morn | F |
| The forge and noisy anvil are at rest | E |
| Nor men nor oxen tread the fields of corn | F |
| Nor pilgrim lifts his staff it is no day | G |
| To those who find on earth their place to stay | G |
