Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Soon the waves so lightly boundingA
All forget the tempest blastB
Soon the pines so sadly soundingA
Cease to mourn the storm that's pastB
-
Soon is hushed the voice of gladnessC
Heard within the green wood's breastD
Yet come back no notes of sadnessC
No remembrance breaks its restD
-
But the heart how fond t'will treasureE
Every note of grief and joyF
Oft come back the notes of pleasureE
Grief's sad echoes oft annoyF
-
There still dwell the looks that vanishG
Swift as brightness of a dreamH
Time in vain earth's smiles may banishG
There undying still they beamH
