| And every action adds its load of sin | A |
| For every action wants the little leaven | B |
| There is no prayer it is but empty sound | C |
| That stirs with frequent breath the yielding air | D |
| With every pulse they are more strongly bound | C |
| Who make the blood of goats the voice of prayer | D |
| Oh heal them heal them Father with thy word | E |
| Their sins cry out to thee from every side | F |
| From son and sire from slave and master heard | E |
| Their voices fill the desert country wide | F |
| And bid thee hasten to relieve and save | G |
| By him who rose triumphant o'er the grave | G |
