Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

Day I lament that none can hymn thy praiseA
In fitting strains of all thy riches blessB
Though thousands sport them in thy golden raysA
Yet none like thee their Maker's name confessB
Great fellow of my being woke with meC
Thou dost put on thy dazzling robes of lightD
And onward from the east go forth to freeC
Thy children from the bondage of the nightD
I hail thee pilgrim on thy lonely wayE
Whose looks on all alike benignant shineF
A child of light like thee I cannot stayE
But on the world I bless must soon declineF
New rising still though setting to mankindG
And ever in the eternal West my dayspring findG
