The Day Of Judgment[1] Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDBBEEFFFFGGHI FF

With a whirl of thought oppress'dA
I sunk from reverie to restA
An horrid vision seized my headB
I saw the graves give up their deadB
Jove arm'd with terrors bursts the skiesC
And thunder roars and lightning fliesC
Amaz'd confus'd its fate unknownD
The world stands trembling at his throneD
While each pale sinner hung his headB
Jove nodding shook the heavens and saidB
Offending race of human kindE
By nature reason learning blindE
You who through frailty stepp'd asideF
And you who never fell through prideF
You who in different sects were shamm'dF
And come to see each other damn'dF
So some folk told you but they knewG
No more of Jove's designs than youG
The world's mad business now is o'erH
And I resent these pranks no moreI
I to such blockheads set my witF
I damn such fools Go go you're bitF
