Stella's Birth-day March 13, 1718-19 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHII

Stella this day is thirty fourA
We shan't dispute a year or moreA
However Stella be not troubledB
Although thy size and years are doubledB
Since first I saw thee at sixteenC
The brightest virgin on the greenC
So little is thy form declinedD
Made up so largely in thy mindD
O would it please the gods to splitE
Thy beauty size and years and witE
No age could furnish out a pairF
Of nymphs so graceful wise and fairF
With half the lustre of your eyesG
With half your wit your years and sizeG
And then before it grew too lateH
How should I beg of gentle fateH
That either nymph might have her swainI
To split my worship too in twainI
