An Epigram Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFF

The scriptures affirm as I heard in my youthA
For indeed I ne'er read them to speak for once truthA
That death is the wages of sin but the justB
Shall die not although they be laid in the dustB
They say so so be it I care not a strawC
Although I be dead both in gospel and lawC
In verse I shall live and be read in each climateD
What more can be said of prime sergeant or primateE
While Carter and Prendergast both may be rottenF
And damn'd to the bargain and yet be forgottenF
