An Answer, By Delany, To Thomas Sheridan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB BB

Dear Sherry I'm sorry for your bloodsheded sore eyeA
And the more I consider your case still the more IA
Regret it for see how the pain on't has wore yeB
Besides the good Whigs who strangely adore yeB
In pity cry out He's a poor blinded ToryB
But listen to me and I'll soon lay before yeB
A sovereign cure well attested in GoryB
First wash it with ros that makes dative roriB
Then send for three leeches and let them all gore yeB
Then take a cordial dram to restore yeB
Then take Lady Judith and walk a fine boreeB
Then take a glass of good claret ex moreB
Then stay as long as you can ab uxoreB
And then if friend Dick will but ope your back door heB
Will quickly dispel the black clouds that hang o'er yeB
And make you so bright that you'll sing tory roryB
And make a new ballad worth ten of John DoryB
Though I work your cure yet he'll get the gloryB
I'm now in the back school house high up one storyB
Quite weary with teaching and ready to moriB
My candle's just out too no longer I'll pore yeB
But away to Clem Barry's there's an end of my storyB
