The Word Quick And Powerful Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHIH JKJA BLBM CNON

The word of Christ our LordA
With whom we have to doB
Is sharper than a two edged swordA
To pierce the sinner throughB
-
Swift as the lightnings blazeC
When aweful thunders rollD
It fills the conscience with amazeC
And penetrates the soulD
-
No heart can he concealedE
From his all piercing eyesF
Each thought and purpose stands revealedE
Naked without disguiseF
-
He sees his peoples' fearsG
He notes their mournful cryH
He counts their sighs and falling tearsI
And helps them from on highH
-
Though feeble is their goodJ
It has his kind regardK
Yea all they would do if they couldJ
Shall find a sure rewardA
-
He sees the wicked tooB
And will repay them soonL
For all the evil deeds they doB
And all they would have doneM
-
Since all our secret waysC
Are marked and known by theeN
Afford us Lord thy light of graceO
That we ourselves may seeN
