The Resurrection And The Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIJI CKCK LMLM NONO

I Am saith Christ our glorious headA
May we attention giveB
The resurrection of the deadA
The life of all that liveC
-
By faith in me the soul receivesD
New life though dead beforeE
And he that in my name believesD
Shall live to die no moreE
-
The sinner sleeping in his graveF
Shall at my voice awakeG
And when I once begin to saveF
My work I ne'er forsakeG
-
Fulfill thy promise gracious LordH
On us assembled hereI
Put forth thy Spirit with the wordJ
And cause the dead to hearI
-
Preserve the pow'r of faith aliveC
In those who love thy nameK
For sin and Satan daily striveC
To quench the sacred flameK
-
Thy pow'r and mercy first prevailedL
From death to set us freeM
And often since our life had failedL
If not renewed by theeM
-
To thee we look to thee we bowN
To thee for help we callO
Our life and resurrection thouN
Our hope our joy our allO
