The Moon In Silver Glory Shone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHG JKLK MNON GPGP QRQS

The moon in silver glory shoneA
And not a cloud in sightB
When suddenly a shade begunC
To intercept her lightB
-
How fast across her orb it spreadD
How fast her light withdrewE
A circle tinged with languid redD
Was all appeared in viewE
-
While many with unmeaning eyeF
Gaze on thy works in vainG
Assist me Lord that I may tryF
Instruction to obtainG
-
Fain would my thankful heart and lipsH
Unite in praise to theeI
And meditate on thy eclipseH
In sad GethsemaneG
-
Thy peoples guilt a heavy loadJ
When standing in their roomK
Deprived thee of the light of GodL
And filled thy soul with gloomK
-
How punctually eclipses moveM
Obedient to thy willN
Thus shall thy faithfulness and loveO
Thy promises fulfillN
-
Dark like the moon without the sunG
I mourn thine absence LordP
For light or comfort I have noneG
But what thy beams affordP
-
But lo the hour draws near apaceQ
When changes shall be o'erR
Then I shall see thee face to faceQ
And be eclipsed no moreS
