Though troubles assailA
And dangers affrightB
Though friends should all failA
And foes all uniteB
Yet one thing secures usC
Whatever betideB
The scripture assures usC
The Lord will provideB
-
The birds without barnD
Or storehouse are fedB
From them let us learnE
To trust for our breadB
His saints what is fittingF
Shall ne'er he deniedB
So long as 'tis writtenG
The Lord will provideB
-
We may like the shipsH
By tempest be tossedB
On perilous deepsH
But cannot be lostB
Though Satan enragesH
The wind and the tideB
The promise engagesH
The Lord will provideB
-
His call we obeyI
Like Abram of oldB
Not knowing our wayI
But faith makes us boldB
For though we are strangersH
We have a good GuideB
And trust in all dangersH
The Lord will provideB
-
When Satan appearsH
To stop up our pathJ
And fill us with fearsH
We triumph by faithK
He cannot take from usH
Though oft he has triedB
This heart cheering promiseH
The Lord will provideB
-
He tells us we're weakL
Our hope is in vainM
The good that we seekL
We ne'er shall obtainM
But when such suggestionsH
Our spirits have pliedB
This answers all questionsH
The Lord will provideB
-
No strength of our ownN
Or goodness we claimO
Yet since we have knownN
The Saviour's great nameO
In this our strong towerP
For safety we hideB
The Lord is our powerP
The Lord will provideB
-
When life sinks apaceH
And death is in viewQ
This word of his graceH
Shall comfort us throughQ
No fearing or doubtingF
With Christ on our sideB
We hope to die shoutingF
The Lord will provideB
